The American Failure posterThe 22 minute short film, The American Failure set to be a full length feature film, is a combination of Scarface meets the Fugitive in the new millennium. Successful LA lawyer, Carlos Elias (Said Faraj, Green Zone) finds himself at his wits end when his business involvement with the Mexican mafia takes a dangerous turn. Little does he know that two undercover detectives, Matheis (Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Hotel Rwanda, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End) and Parker (Dan Thiel) are hot on his trail at the hands of their Lieutenant (Chris Anglin, Call of Duty: Black Opps) to uncover millions of dollars missing from the mob. The main character Carlos losses focus and in return losses everything. “Carlos had the world in his hands and does not see it, he wants more. When you have something good and you look toward something else –that’s an American failure.” This film has just appeared in the Cannes Film Festival and is set to be a success.

Said will be appearing along with the cast and crew of Alongside Night  at the Johnson Center Cinema, George Mason University, Fairfax Campus.  Said appears as the second lead, opposite Kevin Sorbo in this film. This will be a sneak peek of the new movie Alongside Night for faculty, students,  the community and the national press
The event will take place on June 11, 2013 @7:30 PM EDT. It will be done to present and promote J. Neil Schulman’s latest project and to
discuss the political and economic subjects surrounding it with the
general public. A showing of the film followed by a Sundance-style Q&A afterwards with the cast and crew.

Said has asked that our magazine be present during this big event and we are surely setting our calendar for that date.
