Johnny Depp

I admire Johnny Depp as an actor. I have seen most of his movies. In each role he plays, he always comes up with a different character. Johnny Depp cares about his fan base and what they think about him. So, he gives a hundred percent to his performance work.

For example, for the role of Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of the Caribbean, he uses Keith Richards as an inspiration.   In this role, his acting skills were tested to the max. He had to learn how to sword fight, to keep in physical shape for all the action scenes, to know his lines, and to keep in character. I guess you can say Johnny Depp is the new age of Lon Chaney Senior due his ability to cast himself fully into the character that he plays. Johnny Depp’s first role in a major movie production was A Nightmare on Elm Street. He was chosen by Wes Craven’s daughter, because she thought he was cute. His role in this movie was really small and his character was killed off at the end of the film.

Another movie Johnny Depp played in was Edward Scissor Hands. In this move, Johnny plays Edward, a lonesome young man that his father (played by Vincent Price) traps in his castle. One day, a saleswoman finds Edward in his home alone. So, the saleswoman decides to bring Edward home with her. There he learns the meaning of friendship and love. The neighborhood which he now resides in   slowly accepts him. One day, an accident with the saleswoman’s eldest daughter causes the neighborhood to riot. Poor Edward was frighten and fled to his father’s castle. The neighbors found where Edward was hiding and they set the castle on fire. No one knew if Edward was dead or alive. However, the daughter still believed Edward was alive. Johnny proves action is louder then words. He never speaks one word during the film; instead he uses facial, and body movements. You can consider this movie as a modern day Frankenstein.

Today, Johnny Depp’s stardom is still rising. He is one of the most popular stars in Hollywood, and he is still being cast for roles. His success marks him as the only actor to garnish two $ 1,000,000,000 films due to his acting abilities. He is presently being cast in two films, one animated, and the other continuation of his character in a new addition of The Pirates of the Caribbean series. Because of his popularity, we will most likely see Johnny Depp in films for a long time to come.
