The Arts and Entertainment Magazine attended the World Music and Independent Film Festival in Washington, DC on Saturday, August 20th.
The event was a success with many artists from the music and independent film fields attending. The affair was held in the beautiful Capital Hilton, not far from the White House. We started to gather on the second floor and entered the waiting area just outside the hotel’s Congressional Ballroom. Here the Red Carpet event took place and many of the celebrities gathered to have their pictures taken. A short time later we entered the Congressional Ballroom where we were served some of the renowned food that the hotel is famous for.
After our meal our host, June Daguiso the show’s promoter, opened the ceremony and event began with the announcements of the winners. The categories were intertwined by entertainment with songs by twice Oscar nominated celebrity Carol Connors, Heda Rose, FC Steele, child star Shannon Connors, Naomi Achu, Lmaxim, Jessica Ilko, and the group Dirty Bath Water. Also performing was Kolby Maxwell, Susan Burney, Jessica Cain, Oboist H. David Meyers, and dancer Dipti Mehta.
Familiar faces such as Connie Lamothe and Demetrius Parker who this magazine had interviewed in the past, were also at the gathering. Connie took away two of the awards that night and many other celebrities from both fields walked away with impressive awards as well. Even our publisher, Joseph J. O’Donnell, was invited to make an award for Most Creative Music Video for which ‘Even Now’ took home the award,
